Members notice how a gym smells before they notice anything else. They walk in and smell either cleaner and chlorine or last night's workout.
Equipment and floors
We wipe down machines, benches, racks and handles, and clean mirrors and glass. Rubber and turf flooring need different products from hardwood studio floors, so we ask what you have and match the method. Mats are cleaned and left to dry flat.
Locker rooms and showers
This is where most of the effort goes. Showers and floors get scrubbed with a product that cuts soap scum and body oil. Drains and grout get attention before the smell starts. Benches, lockers and mirrors are wiped, and the restrooms are stocked. Mold and mildew settle into damp corners, so we spend time there on every visit.
Schedules
Most gyms are cleaned overnight and finished before opening. Studios with morning classes often clean mid-afternoon, between sessions. A 24-hour gym needs a schedule built around its quietest hours, and sometimes a day porter for the busy ones.
Between visits
Members wipe their own equipment, which works only if the wipe stations are full. The crew refills wipes, sprays and sanitizer dispensers on every visit and checks the towel bins and trash.
Questions from gyms and studios
Do you wash towels or laundry?
No. We empty the towel bins and leave them for your laundry service or staff.
Can you clean a 24-hour gym?
Yes. We plan around the quietest hours and the areas that can close for a short time, and a porter covers the busy stretches.
